Willian & Dinah Oigara Community Foundation is a community based Organization (CBO) whose mission is focus on nurturing talents through promoting knowledge, skills and projects to empower individuals and communities for development.
Oigara Community Foundation (OCF) is an non-profit organisation with a mission focusing on nurturing talents, through promoting knowledge, skills, and projects to empower individuals and communities for development and poverty reduction.
These projects builds on the experiences in the community empowerment project previously
implemented by OCF. The main objective is empowering women and youths in informal settlements, often the most under targeted by strengthening their individual and organizational capacities to transform their social and economic activities to improve livelihoods.
Oigara Community Foundation (OCF) was launched in 2011 by Dr. Joyce Oigara and siblings in honour of their parents William and Dinah efforts to support education of the less privileged. In the same year OCF supported funded;
- Establishment libraries in secondary schools in Nyamira county, Kenya.
- Equipping Kisii University computer labs
- Establishment of Academic Awards, supporting bright needy students at Tindereti High School
- Supporting the girlchild education through donations
- Free community medical camps for testing and advisory
In 2020, OCF evolves from emergency assistance and focuses on long-term livelihood project, aimed at strengthening the informal financial groups, known as ‘Chamas’, to transform to profitable ventures. The project also seeks to address youth unemployment crisis by mentoring talented youths through career development programs that improves fresh graduates’ employability in the formal sector and talent based- self-employment initiatives

MISSION
Develop and nurture talent and abilities to empower disadvantaged individuals and communities for sustainable development. Through the 4 pillars of OCF we intend to fulfill the OCF mission by;
- Promoting education for disadvantaged children in secondary schools.
- Promoting social and economic activities.
- Improved Community Health.
- Partnering with local churches to restore the community spiritually.
